General Setup Information
Username: username@waikato.ac.nz
Password: Same as your waikcookie password
Wireless Security: WPA/WPA2 Enterprise
Authentication: PEAP (Protected EAP)
Anonymous identity: Ignored
CA Certificate: Optional, see below.
Client Certificate: Not implemented, don't set one
PEAP Version: Version 0, others might work
Inner Authentication:MSCHAPv2

Handheld Device Setup
iOS and Android
These devices have been tested to work successfully:
- Android devices like the Nexus One, and the Motorola Blur
- iPad
- iPhone, all generations, with iOS 3 and 4
Windows Mobile
These devices running the following Windows mobile versions need two certificates installed to connect to the eduroam network.
- Windows Mobile 6.1, 6.2, 6.5
In Internet Explorer on the device, click on the following two certificates and click the install tab on the bottom of the screen.
The connection to eduroam should then connect successfully.
- tools.its.waikato.ac.nz in CER Format (SSL site certificate)
- The UserTrust Network in CER Format (chain signing certificate)
Nokia Devices with Wifi
These phones have a somewhat involved setup, but have been made to work.

For the Nokia 5800, the Authority Certificate is the SSL certificate for tools.its.waikato.ac.nz.
You need to download it here, save it into a folder, then
open the file browser and import it by opening it, and selecting the three check boxes, then clicking yes. Go back to the Wireless
config page, and for authority certificate, select UTN-USERFirst-Hardware option.
Doing a google search for eduroam + your device/operating system is a pretty good start here.
Desktop Operating Systems:
Configuration for the above operating systems are mostly covered here, substitute eduroam for eduroam-us for the SSID in these examples.
